Seamless Shipping, Cars to Port, Parts to Your Door

At Autos Japan, we understand that importing a vehicle or auto parts is a significant investment. Our commitment is to make your shipping experience as smooth, transparent, and reliable as possible. We handle the complexities of international logistics so you can focus on what matters most.

Our Streamlined Shipping Process

We believe in efficiency and clear communication from the moment you place your order.
Regarding the import of your vehicles, once the payment is made, the booking process starts immediately, and we aim for the space confirmation on the next available shipment. However, sometimes due to tight space, we are forced to skip the coming vessel, so the vehicle is shipped by the next vessel. Depending on the timings, routes, and final destination, shipments are delayed, and no shipper has any control over that. We do our best to provide you with quick shipment, but things happen. We work with all the shipping companies and choose the fastest route for your consignment. First available ship is our top priority.

Documentation & Preparation:

  • Once the payment is made, all documentation is ready within 7 working days, and we send you the copy by email so you can start the import process at your end.
  • Small auto parts are typically dispatched within 7 to 10 days. Once your order ships, we'll email you the courier receipt so you can easily track your parcel online, along with all necessary documents.

Shipping Methods Tailored to Your Needs

We offer flexible shipping solutions for your vehicle import and auto parts export.

  • Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) Shipping: This method is ideal for whole, operational vehicles. Your vehicle is driven directly onto a specialized vessel. RoRo is often a cost-effective choice for car shipping and offers efficient loading and unloading.
  • Container Shipping: For enhanced protection and versatility, vehicles are securely loaded into enclosed containers. This method offers superior protection from the elements and tampering. It's ideal for multiple vehicle shipments, bulk orders, or for destinations where container vessel is the only available shipping mode. Containers can be dedicated for your items only, or shared by consolidating multiple shipments.

Understanding International Shipping Terms & Costs

When importing, it's important to understand how shipping costs and responsibilities are defi ned:

  • FOB (Free On Board): Under FOB terms, our responsibility for the goods concludes once they are loaded onto the vessel at the origin port in Japan. The buyer (you) then assumes responsibility for ocean freight, insurance, and all destination costs, including import duties and taxes.
  • C&F (Cost and Freight): This means the quoted price includes the cost of the vehicle and the ocean freight to your destination port. Insurance and destination charges remain your responsibility.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight): With CIF, the quoted price covers the vehicle, ocean freight, and insurance to your destination port. You are responsible for all costs once the goods arrive at the destination port, including customs duties and taxes.

Important Note on Payment Terms: To some destinations of the world, the RoRo shipments of Cars, or Container shipment of whole cars cars can be sent by FOB, for example, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland.. However, if you are importing to other countries like UAE, Africa, Caribbean countries, USA, or Canada, the ocean freight needs to be paid in advance in Japan, and the FOB is not available for these routes.

Estimated Transit Times (from Japan)

While these are estimates, they provide a general idea of ocean transit times for your international shipping:

Australia: 3 to 4 weeks
New Zealand: 3 to 4 weeks
UK: 3 to 5 weeks
Ireland: 3 to 5 weeks
UAE: 3 to 4 weeks
Africa: 3 to 5 weeks
Caribbean: 4 weeks to 6 weeks
Guam/USA: 2 weeks
Saipan/USA: 2 weeks
Hawaii/USA: 2 to 3 weeks
USA Mainland: 3 to 8 weeks depending on the destination but mostly 4 weeks.
Central Asia: 4 to 5 weeks

We will inform you of the exact vessel arrival time at your destination once we receive your inquiry. The information above is just a general estimate of the typical ocean transit time.

Tracking Your Shipment & Support

We believe in keeping you informed every step of the way. After your shipment is dispatched, we will provide you with the name of the shipping line and your Bill of Lading (BL) number. While online tracking may not be available, you can check the shipment’s status and arrival updates directly with the shipping company or through your local shipping agent at the destination port. The Bill of Lading also includes the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for your reference.
