Q: Do you offer any pre-shipment inspections?

A: All vehicles undergo our internal quality inspection prior to shipment. Should your country require a specific pre-shipment inspection (e.g., JEVIC, JAAI, EAA, QISJ), we can arrange this for you at an additional cost. Please inform us of such requirements in advance.

Q: Do you ship worldwide?

A: Yes, we ship vehicles and auto parts worldwide and no destination is beyond our reach.

Q: How many cars can fit in one shipping container?

A: The number of vehicles that can fit into a 40ft container depends on their size of the vehicles. For larger vehicles like the Toyota Alphard, we can typically fit two units. For normal sedan cars, we can usually fit four units. For mini trucks, up to six units can often be loaded. We encourage you to discuss your specific shipping options with us for precise details.

Q: How long does shipping take?

A: Shipments are booked on the next available vessel. Shipping schedules can vary depending on the destination, port availability, season, and shipping company capacity. We are not responsible for delays outside of our direct control. For more information, please visit our Shipping page.

Q: Who is responsible for import duties and taxes?

A: Buyers are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, customs clearance procedures, and import requirements at their destination port and country. We provide no legal or regulatory advice regarding import regulations, and recommend checking your local regulations.

Q: What documents will I receive for my shipment?

A: For your convenience and import clearance, we provide essential documents including the Proforma Invoice, Bill of Lading, Marine Insurance (if applicable to your terms), Export Certificate, and its English translation. If you are importing into the USA, an ISF (Importer Security Filing) document will also be provided. Should your country have any other specific documentation requirements, we will discuss and confirm these with you in advance before finalizing the deal.

Q: How and when are the documents sent to me?

A: All necessary original documents are sent by a trackable courier service and their copies by emai. We typically dispatch these documents within 4 working days from the date the vessel has departed from Japan.

Q: In whose name is the marine insurance insured?

A: The marine insurance is typically insured in the name of the consignee (the buyer). This means that the consignee will be the party responsible for filing and receiving any claims on their end should a covered incident occur during transit.

Q: Do you offer a warranty on vehicles or parts?

A: Due to the nature of export and the absence of repair outlets outside Japan, Autos Japan does not offer any after-sales warranty for vehicles or parts once they have been shipped overseas. Any warranty provided applies only to vehicles and parts intended for use within Japan and becomes void upon international shipment.

Q: What if my question isn't listed here?

A: We understand that you may have unique questions. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly for any inquiries not covered in this FAQ. We are always happy to assist you.
